Revenue for the 2010 - 2011 School Year is $3.4mm Higher Than Forecast

According to an article in the Springfield News-Leader, the Springfield Public School System will receive $3.4mm more revenue for this school year than originally forecast.  Against a $201mm annual budget, that amounts to 1.6% favorability.  Chief Financial Officer Steve Chodes and the School Board are pleased with the unplanned revenue and cautiously optimistic about the trend.  It is not enough money to eliminate all the reductions they have already implemented but it will improve their operating cash flow and place them in a  stronger position as they head into the 2011-2012 budgeting process.  The full article can be read at:
